5 Ways to Lift Your Mood/Spirit

Now and then we find ourselves in situations that are beyond our control. But what we can do, is stay positive to minimize its effects on our lives. It is also important to note that no one is productive every day and that’s okay. Acceptance is the first step and then comes action. Find ways to be gentle and kind towards yourself and see the world change around you.
Here are five ways to lift your mood/spirit:
- Start Fresh Everyday
As cliched as it may sound, starting afresh is something very peaceful and satisfactory. Treat each day as a new beginning. Try to get rid of old shame and blame. Beginning with a clean slate is the way forward.
- Treat Your Body Well
Does this seem like, if not the only answer but one of the first things anyone says when you seek their advice? That is because it is the centre of it all. To feel happy, you must drink enough water, eat good food, fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats and connect with nature.
- Get Enough Sleep
Try to get a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep and practice going to bed early. Following a sleep routine will help your body energize and enhance your immunity. Who doesn’t want that?
- Talk to a Friend (a trusted friend!)
Connect with an old friend. Laugh at your silly pictures and old jokes. Know that you are not alone. This will make you feel less isolated and bring a sense of belonging.
- Reduce Your Screen Time
Scrolling down the various social media channels meaninglessly is guaranteed to make you feel miserable. Comparing your life to someone else’s is unfair and has no good outcome. In fact, use that time to go for a walk, read a book, or make yourself a cup of hot chocolate. You won’t regret it!
